Planning A Sweet 16 Birthday Party? Here Are Some Top Ideas

Reaching the age of 16 is a pivotal moment in the eyes of many children, and their parents. School becomes more serious, with more homework and a choice in what subjects the students take. On top of that, the age of 16 is when children start to become more mature, and become perhaps the stereotypical image of a teenager (yes, I know that’s a little generalising). In some countries, becoming 16 gives you the right to drive a scooter, or to drink some types of alcohol. This is not the case for teenagers in the United States, of course, but that doesn’t make this birthday any less important. As a result, planning a 16th birthday can take a lot of thinking, as you’ll want to make it really special. If you’re struggling for ideas, here are a few top tips to ensure that the birthday boy/girl has a fantastic day:

  • Decorate: Ensuring a good mood is present is one of the most important things to do on that special day. As a means of doing that, make sure that your decoration is on point. By that, I don’t mean that you should just wrap ribbons around the table legs – it has got to be something special, and something that suits the child. Perhaps choose a colour scheme based on their favourite colour? Or tailor the decorations to their interests, such as their favourite football team or TV show.
  • Hire a DJ: This might sound like a bit of an extravagant idea, but hiring a DJ is likely to make the teen feel very special, and it’ll make the night super fun for all of the guests, too! Teens tend to love music, and a DJ will know about all of the hottest songs and music trends. He’ll also be able to make announcements throughout the party, which may leave you with a little less stress in regards to the organising.
  • Make sure to pick a trendy location: Why keep the party at home when there are so many venues to ensure that you have an even better time! By choosing a hotel, or other large facility, your teenager will be able to invite a large amount of people, and as a parent, you won’t have to worry about the house getting ruined!
  • Hire a limo: Again, this may sound a little over the top, but you may be surprised to find that hiring a limo is cheaper that you expect. This will make your child feel very special, something which teenagers (often insecure) may long for! It’ll allow them to arrive in style to wherever the party is being held.

If you are feeling extra-extravagant, and your child would like to invite a large amount of people to the party, then you may even want to consider hiring a party bus. This can be an extremely exciting and fun experience! Check out Party Buses in New York by Bergen Limo for more information.
